A whole post about the project I’ve been mentioning for the last entries. I’ve got some questions here, on Facebook and on Instagram, like ”What is it that you do?” and so on.
Elvira Designs was born on the March 28th. I was at Martina’s, one of my oldest and dearest friends, to celebrate her 23rd birthday, and I was very keen to make the present look really nice. I bought this gigantic pink bow, pretty wrapping paper, but no card. Since I bought myself some calligraphy pens a couple of weeks ago, I though why not write her a card of my own? So I did. Martina was very happy with it, and she was kind of surprised that I’d written it myself. I believe everyone can do anything if they want to, and right now I want to learn calligraphy, so I started practicing. But that is probably a whole other story.
During that night, we started talking about this poster that Martina has on her wall. I know that it’s a very expensive poster, so I just asked her where she got it. She replied that she made it herself in Word… Lol, we laughed for a while and then both of us said something like ”One should do posters for a living”. Since I am a very easily frightened person I didn’t think a lot about it after that, but later that weekend Martina texted me saying we should do it, that she really wanted to start a poster business. Roberto has tried talking me into doing it, but I am too scared doing anything these days, lol. But when Martina, with her amazing sense of purpose, really wanted to do it, I thought ”Why the hell not?”. Three weeks later, we’re here. We have a website, our papers are filled in, we’re just waiting for the authorities to approve our application, we’ve booked a bar for a launching event, we’ve got like 50 different designs… Everything is almost done, it’s just that approval and our printing agency needs to get back to us. We’re having a new meeting with them next week and we hope they’ll have good news for us!
Of course I’ll tell you more about it during our journey, but I think this is going to be it for now. Dont forget to follow our project with Elvira Designs on Twitter, Instagram & Facebook. Also we have a Swedish blog where we write about it.
The past two week has been really hectic. We started a new project in school where we are building an Arduino thingy, which then answers to the computer through code. Basically it means we’re building hardware – a machine answering to computer code. My team is building a kind of temperature monitor, but it will then answer to an app on our mobile phones.
Elvira Designs is really everything I am thinking about right now, and everything I want to think about too.. I am designing prints, fixing the new website (this is our current one, but we’re changing to another online store supplier), importing products, texts, images. It’s a lot to do, but I love doing it, and I love spending time with my dear friend Martina ❤ If you want to, we’d appreciate if you would follow us on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter!
We’re working as hard as we can with Designa Din Blogg, but unfortunately there’s a lot of boring stuff left to do, like some of the pictures in some entries have disappeared so we have to take new screen shots for very many posts. Well, I think I might be able to do a lot during this weekend!
Happy Easter everyone!
Last week I went to a Victoria’s Secret event at a beauty salon here in Gothenburg, and this yummy mist and iPhone case were the things I got. Very happy with both of them, and the mist smells lovely!
I’m sorry for not blogging for a few days, but I’m caught up with so many projects I’ve lost count of them, lol. Well, I would be really happy if you’d like our latest project – Elvira Designs – where we are designing, printing and selling graphics. Our sales will hopefully start in the beginning of May, and until then I am working like a horse to finish Designa Din Blogg, my school projects and of course Elvira Designs.
As you all may know I ordered my new iPhone 5 in January, so it’s almost three months ago. I thought it was weird I hadn’t gotten it yet, so I asked Roberto’s sister who works for the company – 3 – where I ordered it. She said it was really weird since they have had it in stock for like two months. It turned out the salesmen who I went to hadn’t gone through with the order, so we put in a new one on Monday, and by Thrusday I had my new little baby!
I love it
My dear friend Martina’s birthday was the other day and tonight we’re celebrating her in her new flat, so it’s kind of a house warming as well. I am excited, and I am very happy with the wrapping of her gift. The ”card” is made by me, I’ve drawn and written it all by myself, lol. Happy belated birthday, darling!
We are so sick of our current dinner table, not because it doesn’t look nice, but because it can’t withstand water… Every time I wipe it, some of the topcoat comes of. It looks really cheap and old, like we haven’t even tried taking care of it. However, we would like a nice, and very steady & solid table. I want to combine that table with chairs which are more modern, because I really like contrasts. I mean, a solid table made of tree and plastic chairs? I love it. All of these are from furniturebox.com, a new favorite for me and my boyfriend. Affordable (well, at least after my graduation) and nice, and also no shipping!
